Requirements and competencies for appointment:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen
- Be a holder of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized University
- Holder of a Post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law;
- Holds a valid practicing certificate;
- At least five years’ experience as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
- Proficiency in computer skills will be an added advantage
- Be a member of Law Society of Kenya and in good standing; and
- Meets the requirements of Chapter six of Constitution.
- Proficiency in computer skills will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Shall, on the instructions of the county attorney represent the county executive in court or in any other legal proceedings to which the county executive is a party, other than criminal proceedings.
- On the instructions of the County Attorney, Negotiate, draft, vet and interpret documents and Agreements for and on behalf of the County Executive and its agencies.
- Undertaking legal research and proving sound advisory brief on legal matters to the County Government.
- Assist in drafting of pleadings on behalf of the County Attorney;
- Handling pre-legal disputes and inquiries, preparing legal opinions and legal briefs
- Perform any other function that may be assigned from time to time.
