About the Role

As a Junior Associate Advocate, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal representation to the firm’s clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting client interviews, developing case strategies, and representing clients in both litigious and non-litigious matters. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Senior Associate and Managing Partner which is essential to ensure effective client management and satisfaction. He/She will contribute to the firm’s business development efforts by participating in networking events and conducting business development activities in line with the firm’s strategy. As part of the firm’s dynamic team, you may be tasked with other lawful and reasonable assignments by firm leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conducting client interviews and comprehensive legal representation of clients in both litigious, non litigious and transactional work.
  2. Attending all courts and tribunals in the Republic of Kenya, regionally and internationally as the case may be.
  3. Developing appropriate case strategies and legal strategy for clients
  4. Assisting the Senior Associate and the Managing Partner in appropriate client-care and client management as a firm-client interface.
  5. Conducting business development for the firm under the firm’s business development policy and quarterly plan.
  6. Ensuring that all matters handled are promptly updated at EliteLaw and any other legal firm management software the firm may employ.
  7. Representing the law firm in legal and networking events as may be requested.
  8. Undertaking any other lawful and reasonable tasks as may be requested by the firm leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized university. (Candidates with a Second Class Upper Division have an added advantage)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law
  • Certificate of Admission to the Bar and Current Practicing Certificate
  • Between 0 to 3 years post-admission qualification
  • Ability to work independently but also in collaboration with other team players.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Stable temperament, respectful and cordial.
