Mboya Wangong’u & Waiyaki Advocates seeks to recruit a highly motivated and ambitious Legal Associate to join its robust Commercial Dispute Resolution team.

Reporting functionally to the Head of Commercial Dispute Resolution, the Legal Associate will undertake the following roles:
1. Providing end-to-end representation of clients in Courts and Tribunals.
2. Taking of instructions and drafting of briefs, pleadings, applications, appeals and submissions.
3. Undertaking any other fee-earning work allocated by the Partners.
4. Ensuring timely billing and collection of legal fees.
5. Carrying out relevant research in current and emerging areas of dispute resolution practice.
6. Undertaking any administrative tasks that may be allocated.
7. Participating in marketing and business development activities of the Firm in line with
the strategic goals of the Firm.
8. Providing a profitable contribution to the Firm.

The candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
1. 3-5 years since admission as an advocate.
2. Extensive experience of representation before the High Court of Kenya (and particularly the Commercial Division), the Employment and Labour Relations Court, the Environment and Land Court and the Court of Appeal.
3. Arbitration experience, as counsel or arbitrator, as well as any experience before the Supreme Court will be an added advantage.
