Kituo Cha Sheria (KITUO) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose mission is to empower the poor and marginalized people to effectively access justice and realize their human and people’s rights. This is done through advocacy, networking, lobbying, legal aid and education, legal representation and research.
KITUO seeks to recruit a qualified, energetic, dynamic, result oriented and capable person to fill the Program/Legal Officer position in the Nairobi Head Office. He/She will be responsible to the Coordinator, Legal Aid and Education Department and will primarily be responsible for litigation and programme work.
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing strategic guidance to our legal team
- Offering legal advice and representation to clients
- Conducting legal research and building litigation strategies
- Promoting legal awareness on housing, land, labor, and human rights issues
- Supporting communities in self-advocacy and lobbying for legal protections
- Managing program work and donor funds responsibly
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil and criminal litigation
- Strong background in advocacy and public interest litigation
- Proficiency in English, Kiswahili, and ICT tools
- Demonstrable experience in public interest litigation is a plus.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of modern ICT tools and systems.

Experience working in the NGO sector or donor funded programs is a distinct advantage.
